This FORS Auction is closed.  The board of directors has decided to conduct biannual auctions. Our next auction will be start March 01, 2009 and will conclude March 31, 2009.

2008 Summer Auction

We will be conducting the FORS auction to help raise funds for getting the club going and to help with some expenses.  If you would consider donating a few birds to the cause, it would be greatly appreciated.  Below you will find the conditions of this auction. 108FORS6 Bob Rapp Two young racers from my loft.  0491 and 0492 are off a cock that was 28th in the 2006 AU race in the San Francisco Bay Area. The hen is off a race winner and a cock that has produced at least 6 winners. She flew in the American grand national last year. The family lines are Vernazza, Lumachi & Hanseene.

This auction will not only help with resources for keeping this club alive and growing, it will also give newcomers a chance to get some good birds. 

Here are the terms and conditions of buying and selling on this auction:

Terms and Conditions

Items

1.  Items listed in the auction are sold “as-is.” The Flying Oriental Roller Society (FORS) does not make any guarantee concerning the condition, health, or quality of the donated items.

2.  Any pictures listed on the auction website are provided by the donor and the FORS does not guarantee the accuracy of these pictures.

3.  The FORS does not guarantee the accuracy of the description of the listed items. The descriptions are provided by the donor.

4.  Bidders are encouraged to contact the donor with all questions about the items listed. The donor’s email address is listed on the auction website.

5.  No refunds will be made for auction items.

6.  Birds will not be shipped to locations outside the United States.

Donors

1.  Birds and other items are considered donated to the FORS. All proceeds from the sale of the donated item(s) will be used by the FORS to fund club activities.

2.  If, for any reason, the item(s) you donate become undeliverable, you must contact the FORS president immediately.

3.  The FORS will contact the donor immediately after receipt of payment for the donated item(s) and release the item for shipment. Please do not ship the item(s) until they are released by the FORS.

4.  The winning bidder will pay for shipping unless otherwise indicated (see shipping below).

5.  The donor must ship the items within one week after the receipt of the shipping cost (and box when applicable) from the winning bidder.

6.  Donors who fail to execute their commitment to donate and ship the item(s) may be banned from future auctions.

7.  Donors may not bid on their own items.

                    Bidding

1.  All bid amounts must be made in U.S. dollars.

2.  Live birds will not be shipped out of the United States.

3.  Bids may be placed by sending an email to islanddoves@telus.net  , by calling the auctioneer Kelly Waugh at (250) 247-8375, or by replying to the appropriate thread on the FORS discussion forum.

4.  The auction will close at _______ EST on ______.

5.  Bid amounts do not include shipping. The winning bidder must arrange and pay for shipment with the donor.

6.  The winning bidder will be responsible for providing an approved shipping box for birds unless other arrangements are made with the donor. The cost of the shipping box is not included in the bid amount.

7.  The FORS will set the starting bid. Once the bidding starts, subsequent bids must be in increments of at least one dollar (U.S.).

8.  Proxy bids will be accepted. Bidders should clearly indicate they wish to submit a proxy bid and their maximum bid amount. For example, if you submit a proxy bid of $80.00 and the current bid is $35.00, the auction webpage will show your bid as *$36.00. The asterisk (*) indicates a proxy bid. If the next bid received is $42.00, you will still be the high bidder and the webpage will be updated to *$42.00. As subsequent bids come in, you will continue to be listed as the high bidder until the bid amount exceeds $80.00 – your maximum proxy bid.

9.  Donors may not bid on their own items.

10.  Bidders must be prepared to pay for the item(s) they bid on and should consider their bid as a legally-binding contract. If, for any reason, bidders are unable to pay the amount bid, they should contact the FORS immediately at islanddoves@telus.net to retract their bid.

11.  Bid retractions may result in the bidder being banned from future auctions.

          Winning Bids

1.  The auction website will be updated within 12 hours of the end of the auction. Winning bidders will be clearly indicated on this website.

2.  Winners must pay for the auction item(s) within 7 days of the end of the auction. If payment is not received, the item(s) will be offered to the next highest bidder at their bid price. Winners who default on their commitment to purchase the item at their established bid price may be banned from future auctions.

3.  Payments may be made by sending a check or money order to Nick Grzywacz, 50 Pershing Ave, Seymour, CT 06483 (203) 888-9597 grzywacznkl@aol.com or by sending a PayPal payment to orientalroller@q.com

4.  The winning bidder must contact the donor to make arrangements for shipping.

5.  The winning bidder must pay the donor for the exact shipping costs.

6.  The winner should expect to pay for an approved shipping box for live birds.
